An OUT
OF THE BOX Christmas
Experience
In
December, families and friends gathered to have an Out
of the Box Christmas experience. With well over 200 in
attendance, it became a little squishy at times but no one
seemed to mind.
Everyone was treated to a special production called Out of the
Box. The play gave us a 'sneak peak' into
the fantasy lives of a collection of Christmas and Nativity
figurines. They were surprise when they looked around and found Jesus
missing this Christmas. Children sang, danced and acted their
way into our hearts as they taught us an important message...we
can't truly experience Christmas without Jesus!
After
the play, families enjoyed eating cookies and reindeer snacks
while participating in food making
activities, craft stations and having their pictures taken
in a nativity display that featured face cut outs. (see pictures
below)
The large cast of children and middle school students were directed by
Trina Perry, Kalie Martinsen and supported by a wonderful group
of parents and behind the scene volunteers. Tracy Blake honored
us with her guitar playing abilities for the music portions of
the program.
Trina Perry
did a great job of overseeing the entire program as the
event's director. Hats off to this great leadership team and
everyone involved!
The Kreek Kids Leadership Team knows it is vital to work with
parents in the classroom and at events like these so Kreek Kids
can become the BEST HOUR in
every family' week!

Special Thanks to Suzanne Summer who created four
Nativity cut out picture stations for families to enjoy
while Wayne Clinton created the Nativity backdrop for

Preschool - 5th Grades
WELCOME ABOARD Steward's Ship! 10:30AM
On Jan. 22, 29th and Feb. 5th, children will be boarding
Steward's Ship where they'll discover that stewardship and
serving others with their time, talents and treasures can be
fun!

PRESCHOOL/KINDERGARTEN
Attendance is Climbing!
Attendance in our preschool classroom has been climbing! Exciting but not
SAFE. A few times, we have reached and exceeded our volunteer-to-child
ratios which means we have to close
the classroom to additional children. We continually
re-evaluate and discuss how to secure additional staffing that
will be fun and flexible for those choosing to serve in Kreek
Kids.
We have come up with two new options that we would like to implement
in 2006.
Option One - Parents
or grandparents will be invited to be a special guest in their
child's classroom and will be the child's 'Show and Tell'
during one service. They'll be given an opportunity to
share something special about their family. It can be as simple
as sharing a short story, special picture, a unique hobby,
favorite vacation, a family tradition, their favorite food or
maybe their family's pet! After 'Show and Tell'
time, they'll have fun as a helper in the
classroom. It will be a great way to experience what their son or daughter is doing in KinderZone.
Option Two - If you are available during one of the 8:45 or 10:30
services, leave your name at the Kreek Kids Check-In center upon
arriving at church on Sunday mornings. If we need your help, we will tap you on your shoulder
so you can help mind
the gap.
You can contact
our PreKK Director, Denise Cerna, directly @ (360)474-1528 or by email.
